As I see the sun swallow the window in my view
Blanking out the neon sign on it, only a bright clear hue –
remains, the sun spotlights me, my shades, are already, affixed,
I’m feeling zen vibes on a morning like this.
The cold water hits and the black coffee hits harder,
first day jitters no more, my mind’s already farther,
looking future-past same-time, I’m zooming out,
it feels good when hard work pays off, no doubt!
I spent time in the shadows waiting for this brightness
so I cherish sunshine now, holding on with tightness,
If I could I would sit here until it’s thunder and lightning
and drink so much coffee that I’ll need teeth whitening.
The golden sunshine hits me and I know the deal-
